NBI: 1 question high traffic blogs ask
This article is part of the Newbie Blogger Initiative: a month-long event for May, to encourage and help readers to become Bloggers. I wrote an introductory article, if you'd like to read it and see how I got started in Blogging and how this event started.
I've run the pro-blogging circuit numerous times; always trying to learn more, grow my traffic and write better. Tips, tutorials and tricks are everywhere. Just type in blogging tips into Google and be amazed by the search results from sites tagged as being pro-blogging, pro-tips or pro-anything.
Most of them are, actually, fairly accurate, especially with the many numbered lists they have.
However, there is one tip that I don't see very often that is highly beneficial and rooted in most tips that do get repeated often, about social networking.
Dungeoneered 03: House by Calysee’s Design by Angelyka and Calysee
Highlighting player-made dungeons and houses in stunning 1080p High Definition by your host Jeremy Stratton on the MMORPG Everquest 2, every Friday
In weeks one and two, I looked at great dungeon designs. This week, I'm switching to the housing leaderboard. Calysee and Angelyka have completely transformed a New Halas five-room house. It's a short video this week, but it shows-off an extreme example of the flexibility in EQ2's housing system.
Telon Times vidcast 04: Large Thestran guild hall and house tour
Commentary, opinion and stunning 1080p High Definition gameplay by Jeremy Stratton on the classic MMORPG Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.
Welcome back to my three-part look at guild- and player-housing in Vanguard. Last episode, I looked at the sandy, Arabian-flavored buildings of Qalia. This week, it's the somewhat classical, European fantasy stylings of Thestra.
Notes and opinions are after the cut. The video is shorter than usual, but I explain that.
Dungeoneered 02: Quel’Stezch’s Domain
Highlighting player-made dungeons and houses in stunning 1080p High Definition by your host Jeremy Stratton on the MMORPG Everquest 2.
Welcome to episode 2 of Dungeoneering. The first episode went over well, and I have another cool Dungeon this week. Karen and I have featured a dungeon by Pixiewrath on Massively TV, but he or she hasn't stopped making more.
Check out the video and my notes, after the break.

Please, don't feel shy or that you'll hurt my feelings by posting negative comments and I promise I won't lash-out at you in any way. I'm submitting this to some writing sites and forums, anyway, so I'm hoping to get some serious criticism from that angle as well. So, please, click to read my fragment of fiction.
The real challenge in MMOs isn’t a Boss
Some players may think raiding is where it's at. They may think a gajillion-vs-gajillion PvP-battleground is the height of challenge. Giant dragons, the Lich King or any number of bosses aren't where the pinnacle of challenge can be found in MMOs. Try organizing a band of merry-men to play instruments in unison with each other, organize a character-fashion show or any player-event where the players have to not only cooperate, but cooperate effectively without the game-tools to do it for them.
Telon Times vidcast 03: Large Qalia guild hall and house tour
Commentary, opinion and stunning 1080p High Definition gameplay by Jeremy Stratton on the classic MMORPG Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.
This week's Telon Times was planned to be a tour of just the large Qalia guild hall and then some talk about faction coins, but it turned into a pure tour video with the addition of a Qalia house tour. I filmed this late at night, because I jumped on the opportunity to tour the guild hall when it was offered, thus the volume is low and my commentary fairly loose and unstructured. There are three continents in Vanguard, each with their own flavor of architecture for guild and player housing. Qalia definitely has a Middle Eastern vibe going on, Kojan has a Far East tint to structures and Thestra falls somewhere around traditional European fantasy. I'm already trying to put together similar tours of a guild hall and house from Kojan and Thestra.
As with Telon Times one and two, I'd love any advice, comments, tips or questions.
NBI: How to be consistent but make it easy and painless
Disclaimer - This article is part of the Newbie Blogger Initiative: a month-long event for May, to encourage and help readers to become Bloggers. I wrote an introductory article, if you'd like to read it and see how I got started in Blogging and how this event started.
"Be consistent". I used to read those two words a lot, when I was looking for advice and tips on how to get more readers. Firstly, I learned that I don't really need to worry so much about getting more readers.
But, it's not a terrible thing. To me, being consistent isn't a guy sitting at a news desk, scribbling away into a weekly schedule to plan out his next month of Blog posts. We do that, yes, but what I think I came to learn - that needed to be learned before moving on was: Be consistent... with what you can do.
Dungeoneered: Star Trek Another Quadrant
Welcome to episode one of Dungeoneered, the video-series highlighting player-made dungeons, guild halls and homes in Everquest 2, with some news and updates occasionally sprinkled on top.
For the first episode, I did a solo run through Star Trek Another Quadrant designed by Contessia of the Freeport server.
All of this is presented in stunning 1080p High Definition.
You can watch the full run, and see the stats, my opinions and advice after the break.
400 Guild Wars 2 Beta images added to gallery
A very small post to let everyone know that I've added 400 images from my time in the Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Event. You might find it interesting that a lot of them are from the Norn introduction cinematic. If you're curious and would like a sneak peek at the Norn introduction (as far as it was developed for Beta) then you'll like the slideshow-effect the thumbnails give you. Enjoy.
